Richard Leonard Bentkowski

June 17, 2009, age 81Beloved husband of Irene (nee Simas) Bentkowski; Loving father of Paul J. Bentkowski and Ann (Michael) Burstyn; Cherished grandfather of Christina Bentkowski, Kristel Bentkowski, Jenny (Brian) Riechle and Richard Brent; Adored great grandfather of five great grandchildren; Caring uncle of many nieces and nephews. The family will be present on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the (TONAWANDA CHAPEL) AMIGONE FUNERAL HOME INC., 2600 Sheridan Drive (corner of Parker Blvd) where prayers will be offered Monday at 11 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated from St. Mark's Church at 12 PM. Friends invited. Richard received his Masters degree in Science from Buffalo State in 1969. He retired as a Buffalo school teacher after 23 years. Richard was an active member of the Leonard Post and was a Secretary of Treasury for Fleet Reserve Association Branch 23.
