Richard Irvin "DJ" Booth Jr., 32, of Pekin, IL, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Sunday, February 18, 2024.
DJ Was born on May 1, 1991, in Peoria. He was adopted by his grandparents, Richard I. and Pamela Booth Whited.
Surviving are his adopted mother, Pam, of Creve Coeur; his biological mother, Wendy Mackey, of Pekin; his biological father, Elex Mackey III, of San Jose, IL, and one son, Carter Kolesar, of Pekin. Also surviving are one brother, Matthew Mackey, of San Jose, and one sister, Kayla Mackey, of Pekin. His adopted Father, Richard I. Booth Sr., preceded him in death.
He worked for All Around Towing in Bartonville before working at Wheel Worx as a fork truck driver, where he was currently employed, last working on Thursday, February 15, 2024.
He was an enthusiast of demolition derby. DJ spent countless weekends at the track as a competitor and a spectator, sharing his passion with friends and family. DJ's legacy is etched not only in the tire tracks of the Derby Arena but also in the hearts of those he inspired. His unwavering spirit and joy for life were infectious, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met.
As we bid farewell to DJ, we celebrate a life lived to the fullest; his memory will forever be joy in the lives of those he touched.
A visitation will be held Friday, February 23, 2024, from 5 pm until 7 pm at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington. Cremation rites will follow his visitation. To share a memory or send a condolence to his family, visit www.masonfuneralhomes.com.

I have so many memories and that's all I have left now. You touched so many lives,helped countless people. You were so full of energy,life and had such a loving,kind heart. You didn't know a stranger. To know you was to love you. Everyday,you worked hard on becoming the best version of yourself and I'm so proud of the man you became. I love you,Dj. Race in Paradise,little brother. Blood didn't make us family but love did.
