Richard Bottorff Obituary
Richard Bottorff passed away at the age of 84. Richard was active his whole life supporting the community - as both a teacher and guidance counselor - helping 1000's of middle school and high school students navigate life. Richard served in Seymour Indiana, Houston Texas, and Elkhart Indiana. Richard was outgoing in every aspect of life and made friends wherever he went. Richard was preceded in death by his parents (GB and Clarice Bottorff), 3 brothers (Bob, Steve, Dave) and his son (Dan). Richard was still very active in his family's life and succeeded by his 2 daughters, 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. In his later years, Richard enjoyed local sports and was really enjoying IU football, Pacers, Colts, Cincinnati baseball and his grandkids and great grandkids' activities. Richard's faith and church passion was key in his life, and he loved being a greeter on Sunday morning. Richard was an avid animal lover with dogs, birds, and squirrels being his favorite. His smile, jokes, and card playing ability will be missed by the family.
Services for Richard will be held at Venture Christian Church in Carmel, IN on Friday 10/31 with visitation from 10-12 and funeral at 12 noon. See BussellsFamilyFuneral.com for additional information.

Richard served with me as well at Venture Christian Church on the First Impressions Ministry. He enjoyed this ministry and served with compassion and energy. He was always the first to greet me when I walked in on Sunday morning. I will always remember his contagious smile and his concern for all those that he served with at Venture. Enjoy your new greeting assignment in heaven!

Richard served with me at Venture Christian Church on the First Impressions Ministry which was basically the welcoming committee. He loved being at the front door to meet and greet folks. His smile was infectious. He would always arrive early as did I and we would always have great conversations before the action started. Richard will be greatly missed by all who knew him. I´m thankful he is experiencing his reward with his Savior.
