Richard! I miss you , your simple sandwich lunches with one mini candy bar, your laughter and how you seemed to enjoy working at the county and, I think of you whenever I play solitaire spider. I blame you for my current addiction

`Coach Bowker´ was a big part of my young life & I know of many little league teammates who also had fond memories of coach. He fostered a close family atmosphere & made practices fun. After four years we finally clinched a championship for the Orioles! Dick followed a core group of his players up to the big-league (full-size field). After another four years we won a PAL championship as the Dodgers! Through all these years Dick kept his team focused on improving by offering fun team drills, plenty of batting & fielding practice. I have lots of great memories of coach Bowker, sympathy to the entire family.

I worked with Richard until he retired from the County. I miss his joviality, common sense and friendship. My favorite times were our periodic walks to Patty´s place for the best jalapeño chili in town. Other days he would visit his mom on Parrish and refill her bird feeder or eat a sandwich at his desk along with a mini candy bar. Dick (as we called him) had a good relationship with every one at the county, especially his roommates Norm Shupe and Eileen Lehman not to mention everyone he assisted in the county IT department, county and town tax collection, tax billing, finance, county attorney´s office, public works....
Dick, please give Delores a hug from all of us. Thank her for the seasonal rum balls and shrimp dip too!
