Richard Bromley Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Huber Funeral Home - Mound Chapel on Jan. 6, 2026.
Richard Bromley, age 82 of Excelsior, MN passed away Friday, January 2, 2025 in Anoka.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am Saturday, January 10, 2025 at Mount Olive Lutheran

Church in Mound, MN. Visitation one hour prior to the service.

Richard Thomas "Dick" Bromley was born on January 23, 1943 to Kenneth R. Bromley and

Carol M. (Robidoux) Bromley in Minneapolis, MN. He grew up in Minneapolis and

Deephaven.

On August 29, 1966, Richard married Karen Meyer, raising their two children in Excelsior.

Richard's working career started in a small Printed Circuit manufacturing shop where he

learned from the ground up everything involved in creating the backbone of all electronics,

eventually becoming a Quality Control Engineer in charge of product integrity and process

effectiveness in a much larger company. After his retirement he took part time work in

retail where he discovered his ability to engage and entertain people – eventually leading to

his biggest passion, becoming a bit of a legend in his local Karaoke community, earning the

moniker "the Love Doctor" for singing ballads almost exclusively.

He loved spending time at Church and with his family.

Richard is survived by his son, Ken Bromley, Maple Grove, MN; his daughter, Shaunda

Hurlbert, Vadnais Heights; sister, Yvonne Wimperis, Elk River, MN; three grandchildren,

Andrew Baseman, Nicholas Liles and Shelby Liles; and six great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his two wives, Karen Bromley (2002) and Gloria

Bromley (2020); his two brothers, Stanley Bromley and Kenneth "Skip" Bromley; and his

grandson, Nathan Baseman.
