Richard W. "Dick" Brooke, 90, passed away October 7, 2025 at his home in Boothbay after visits from his loving extended family. Dick was born and raised in Melrose, Massachusetts and graduated from Melrose High School. He attended M.I.T. and graduated in 1956 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Dick worked at Raytheon for twenty-seven years until he retired to Maine in 1992. Dick enjoyed his growing family, woodworking, playing duplicate bridge, ping pong, studying the stars, and rooting for all the Boston sports teams.
Dick was predeceased by his parents, Richard and Gladys, and by his son, Ricky. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Jackie; daughter, Sandy VanDerWerf; son Bob and daughter-in-law, Helen; his sister, Betsy Gerakaris; seven Grandchildren; and nine Great Grandchildren.
A celebration of Dick's life will be held in the Spring of 2026 at a location to be announced. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Acton, MA.
