RICH BURGESS JR.
It is with great sadness to announce the passing of our father, grandfather and uncle, Rich Burgess Jr.
Rich had various laborer occupations ranging from most recent; gas station manager/attendant, Jeweler, Quick Lube manager, machinist and was even a security guard for Janet Jackson's music producer Jimmy Jam.
Rich had a love for many outdoor activities from fishing, hunting and sports. Rich enjoyed deer hunting with his son and his granddaughter, Christine. Rich was a softball coach for his granddaughter, Christine, and a softball coach for his daughter Sarah and baseball coach for his Son Richard III as a kid and played ball on a team together, his nickname was Goat because he looked like a billy goat when he grew out his beard for hunting season, and also enjoyed other activities such as bowling, which he also shared with his kids; Richard, Sarah, and Kristin. He loved to load his grandkids up with sugar before sending them back to their parents. He enjoyed playing computer games, watching the Vikings, high school hockey state games, ATV rides, helping out his neighbors, Powerball hopeful and is known for his Goofy and Donald duck impersonations. He loved and enjoyed being around his grandkids the most, teaching them about guns, gun safety how to shoot and how to hunt, and watching them grow.
Rich spent a lot of time in International Falls growing up and throughout his life until he made a home in the twin cities area until he decided he had enough of the cities and decided to move back to International Falls in 2010 with his son Richard III for more peace and less stress. They both were able to do their favorite activity together, hunting, with ease.
Rich is preceded in death by his dad, Dick Burgess Sr., his mother Gertrude Burgess (Ewald), his brother Joe Burgess, his sister Diane Hexum, his grandma Ewald, his niece Dawn (Cheryl's daughter) and his granddaughter Isabella Rose (Kristin).
He is survived by his son Richard Burgess III, daughter's Sarah Letourneau (Burgess), and Kristin Burgess. His grandchildren Christine Bistram-Burgess (Richard III), Remington and Olivia Burgess (Kristin) and Jenny and Louisa Letourneau (Sarah), his brothers Danny, David (Becky), and Pat(Bonnie) and his sister Cheryl and many nieces and nephews.
Rich did not want to have a memorial or a celebration of life and we will respect his wishes.
But he will forever be in our hearts and thoughts. Condolences may be left at
