Richard Butler Obituary

Mr. Butler was a retired police officer for the Columbia Police Department and served the Adair County Sheriff's Department during his career. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, being outdoors and spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife of 21 years Kay Stallings Butler; his daughter Michelle Grant; a granddaughter Shelby Grant (Ashley Gregory); a nephew Bobby Bradshaw; a special friend Tommy Corbin all of Columbia, KY and his fur baby son "Trooper".
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Marcia Carole Bradshaw and her husband Robert.
Funeral services will be 2:00pm on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with burial in the Cox Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 4:00-8:00pm and will continue Saturday morning until time for the service.
Bro. Russ Wheat will be officiating, and pallbearers will be Josh Brockman, Craig Feese, Barry Morrison, Anthony Darnell, Daniel Loy, and Matt Jackson.
