Richard Carroll Obituary

Richard L. 'Arch' Carroll, 76, of New Kensington, died Thursday, Jan. 16, 2025, in his home. He was born in Alliance, OH, on June 13, 1948, to the late Wilbur C. and Helen Marie Yuritza Carroll and has been a resident of New Kensington since moving from OH, in 1998. Mr. Carroll was an Army veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Grace Community Presbyterian Church, Lower Burrell. He was the past president of the Pittsburgh Chapter of the Equipment Maintenance Council and a member of Delta Epsilon Fraternity at Kent State. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, and watching his granddaughters play soccer. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Bonnie L. Funkhouser Carroll; children, Bernadette Carroll of AZ, Nathan (Julia) Carroll of Seattle, WA, Gabrielle (Steven) Capuano of Boiling Springs, PA, Dwight (Sarah) Householder, and Eric (Jess) Householder, both of Lower Burrell; and 12 grandchildren; sister, Jean Webster of Alliance, OH; brother-in-law, Bob Funkhouser; and sisters-in-law, Marcy Funkhouser and Betty Muffley. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers-in-law, Gary Funkhouser and Boyd Webster. Friends will be received Sunday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., at THE RUSIEWICZ OF LOWER BURRELL FUNERAL HOME, 3124 Leechburg Road at Alder St., where funeral services will be held Monday, at 11 a.m., by The Rev. Dr. Owar Ojulu. Interment with military honors by the Army will follow in Greenwood Mausoleum, Lower Burrell. The family suggests donations made in his name to Grace Community Church, 2751 Grant St., Lower Burrell, PA 15068. www.RusiewiczFH.com
