Richard K. “Dick” Chamberlain was born on May 10, 1936, in Middleborough, Massachusetts, and passed away peacefully on November 19, 2025, was the son of the late Russell and Barbara (King) Chamberlain.

He is survived by his son, Ian, and his wife, Lisa; his daughter-in-law, Victoria Chamberlain; and three grandchildren: Ashley McCauley and her husband, Kevin; Brad Chamberlain and his wife, Katie; and Jeffrey Chamberlain and his wife, Krystal. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren, and close extended family, the Chamberlains, Van Meters, and Lairs.

Dick was predeceased by his beloved wife, Ann (Van Meter) Chamberlain to whom he was married 51 years before she passed in 2011, his youngest son, Brett Chamberlain, and a brother, David Chamberlain.

In 1971, Dick and his family moved to Brentwood, where they quickly became active members of the community. The Chamberlains were deeply involved in the United Church of Christ, the Brentwood Library, and several local organizations. Dick proudly served as Moderator for the Town of Brentwood from 1979 until 2024, a position he held with great dedication and respect. Professionally, Dick worked as a camp consultant for the United Church of Christ, he also served several roles within the American Camp Association which took him across the country and around the world.

Throughout his life, Dick built a wide network of longtime friends and colleagues who admired his adventurous nature, compassion for others, and good humor. Dick cherished the relationships he formed throughout his life professionally, personally, and amongst family. He found great joy in traveling, canoeing, fishing, and good conversation.
