Richard Claugherty Obituary
Rick Claugherty passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at his home in Beroun at the age of 80.
Richard Thomas Claugherty was born November 20, 1944, to William and Genevieve (Nadeau) Claugherty in St. Paul, Minnesota. After spending his childhood and school days in St. Paul Rick moved to Stillwater. Always loving music and being very talented Rick would be in a semiprofessional band for 26 years. With the band "Trendz" and later called "Just Because" he played rhythm guitar, keyboard and was the lead singer. During this time, he met Sally Kellogg, they married March 6, 1965. The family lived on a hobby farm with many animals, Rick was an excellent equestrian and loved horse jumping competitions.
Rick retired from Andersen Windows after 32 years of employment. Always a very generous soul, when 3 of his grandchildren needed him, he and Sally were there to help. He did many things in his life for others that he was proud of, one of the things that gave him great pride was 55 years of sobriety. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
Rick is survived by loving wife of 59 years, Sally Claugherty of Beroun: sons Rick Claugherty of Stillwater, Michael Claugherty, Scott Claugherty both of Pine City; grandchildren Tasia Nelson of Pine City, Kayla Claugherty of Circle Pines, Julie (Mike) Nybeck; great grandchildren Aubrianna, Landon, Eli Nelson, Jaxson, Jon Nybeck; siblings Dennis (Darlene) Claugherty of Harris, Donny Claugherty, Tim Claugherty, Colleen (Chester) Christy, Bob (Lucy) Claugherty; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Father Stephen Solors will celebrate Mass of Christian Burial for Richard: 11 AM; Friday, January 31, 2025, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Pine City. A time of visitation and reviewal Thursday (1/30) from 5-7:00 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM at Swanson Funeral Chapel in Pine City and one hour prior to the Mass in Saint Anthony Commons in the church. Interment will take place at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Pine City.
