Richard James Cobb, a cherished husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away on December 15, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on November 17, 1942, Richard's life was a testament to love, dedication, and resilience.
He is survived by his loving wife, Glenda, who stood by his side through life's many joys and challenges. Their partnership was a beacon of commitment, exemplifying the deepest forms of love and support. Richard was a proud father to five children: Xervia “Nell” Cobb of Columbia, MD, Mary “Monique” Cobb of Savannah, GA, John Cobb of Indianapolis, IN, Carmella Williams of Baltimore, MD, and Michael Bethea of Snellville, GA. His legacy lives on through them, as well as through the countless memories they created together.
Richard was also a beloved brother, remembered fondly by his siblings: Donna Cobb-Taylor of Pennsylvania, Karen Woods of Pennsylvania, Tim McKinney of North Carolina, and Diane Woods of Georgia. The bonds he shared with each of them were invaluable, providing joy and solace throughout his life.
A visitation to honor Richard will be held on December 30, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Central Church, located at 11157 City Pond Rd, Covington, GA. Following this, a Celebration of Life service will take place at the same location, beginning at 11:00 AM.
Richard's presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His kindness, wisdom, and vibrant spirit touched many lives, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of family and friends alike.
