Richard Cohen, 70, of Dennis, Massachusetts (formerly of Reading, Massachusetts where he spent most of his life), passed away on February 13, 2026, at Royal Health in Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts.

Born in Lynn, Massachusetts, Richard was the son of Fred and Gloria Cohen. He was especially close to his mother.

Richard was the devoted husband of Ginny Cohen and loving father to Matthew Cohen and his wife Kara of Hoboken, NJ, and Heather Leach and her husband Scott of Harvard, MA. He was immensely proud of his children and never missed an opportunity celebrate their accomplishments. During their school years, he especially enjoyed attending Heather's piano recitals and Matthew's high school football games. Richard was a proud grandfather to Zac, Dax, Elise, and Esmé, who brought him immense joy.

Richard is also survived by his siblings, Jeff Cohen of Wakefield, MA and Ellen Hauskens of Walnut Creek, CA.

A dedicated family man, Richard owned and operated Medical Data Services for over 20 years before selling the business and retiring in 2019. Earlier in his career, he worked in fire protection and alarm systems and later became deeply involved in the Reading community, serving for several years as president of RCTV. He also taught medical billing and administration courses and consulted with medical practices, helping many physicians build and manage successful offices. Following retirement, he and Ginny moved to Cape Cod, where he became an active and respected leader in the Dennis-Yarmouth Newcomers group.

Richard enjoyed entertaining, cards, woodworking, dinner clubs, and being social with his friends from the Dennis-Yarmouth Newcomers group. He especially loved cooking for family and friends, often using food as a way to take care of the people he loved. He valued community, friendship, and connection, and was known for welcoming others with warmth and sincerity.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Gloria, and his stepfather, Morris Klein.

Richard will be deeply missed and forever loved.

A memorial service will be held Monday at 11:00 AM at Chabad Lubavitch of Cape Cod , 745 Main St., Hyannis.

A reception will follow at 54 Dr. Stanton Road in Dennis, Massachusetts.
