Richard Cole Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cannon - Catavolos Funeral Home - Parma Heights on Dec. 26, 2025.
Richard Lee Cole Sr. "Rick" age 76 of Willoughby, Ohio passed away on December 26, 2025, rejoining his beloved wife Mary Jane (nee Kopaitich) after 3 years apart.
Rick leaves behind three children, Richard Cole Jr. (Jennifer), Amy Cole (Almino "Al" Taddeo), Halle Cole (Angela Stanton), two grandchildren, Caden and Gavin Cole, and a large extended family.
Aside from Mary Jane, Rick was preceded in death by his parents Thomas B. Cole Sr. and Roberta Cole, and his brother Thomas B. Cole Jr. (Polly).
Born on March 30, 1949 in Cleveland, Ohio. A graduate of Wickliffe High School, Class of 1968. Rick met Mary Jane on Green Ridge Drive as they lived on the same street growing up. They were inseparable, marrying in 1974 and building a life filled with laughter and family. Rick worked as a skilled computer aided draftsman in engineering products and structures at General Electric (NELA Park), Morton Salt (Fairport Harbor), and Hy Tech Controls (Oakwood). He built a foundation of love and security for his family and found joy in history, cooking, golfing, and was a handy-man at heart.
A Celebration of Rick's Life will be held at a later date.
He will be deeply missed, but his family finds comfort knowing he is reunited with his Mary Jane.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donation be made to them either through this site or to them directly.
