Richard K. Colucci, of Basking Ridge, New Jersey, passed away suddenly at his home on November 5, 2025.
Born in Plainfield, New Jersey, to Dominick Jr. and Marie Colucci, Richard spent his early years in Plainfield before the family moved to Warren. For the past thirty years, he made his home in Basking Ridge, where he continued to stay close to his family and lifelong friends.
Richard worked alongside his father and brother in the family business, Colucci Trucking and Excavation, based in Plainfield, as an equipment operator. Then, in 1984, Richard and his brother Dominic went on to form Colucci Bro's General Contractors, a successful partnership they ran together. He took great pride in his work and was known for his strong work ethic and reliability. Beyond his professional skills, Richard was an exceptionally talented mechanic with an innate ability to repair almost anything-whether it was a vehicle in need of attention or a project around the house. From fixing a leaky faucet to replacing a hot water heater, Richard was always the one friends and relatives called when something needed to be repaired.
Although a quiet and independent person by nature, Richard was deeply devoted to his family. He spent much of his time helping his 94-year-old mother and was always available to lend a hand to those who needed him. His kindness, dependability, and willingness to help others will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
Richard is survived by his loving mother, Marie Colucci; his sister, Carol Cullion, and her husband, Allen; his brother, Dominic Colucci; his nephew, Christopher Cullion; his niece, Rebecca Webb; his great-nephews, Ryan and Emmett; and his great-niece, Nora.
Cremation services will be held privately.
