Raymond David MacNaul, 66, of Montgomery, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on November 16, 2025, at his home.

Raymond was born on May 18, 1959, in Rahway, New Jersey, the son of Gordon and Eva MacNaul. He grew up in Edison, New Jersey, where he graduated from J.P. Stevens High School. He went on to earn a bachelor's degree in microbiology from Rutgers University, followed by an MBA in management from Fairleigh Dickinson University.

Raymond built a distinguished career in the pharmaceutical industry. He began as a research scientist at Johnson & Johnson before moving into managerial and competitive intelligence roles with several major companies, including Novartis, Merck, and Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals, ultimately retiring as a Director in Competitive Intelligence. His work ethic, sharp mind, and dedication earned him deep respect from colleagues and peers.

Raymond spent 25 years in Warren, New Jersey, where he raised his daughter, became a valued member of the community, and formed many of the memories his family cherishes most. He later lived in Basking Ridge before relocating to Montgomery, Texas, four years ago.

Outside of work, Raymond was a man of curiosity, enthusiasm, and wide-ranging interests. He loved the outdoors and stayed active through golf, biking, scuba diving, and bowling in his younger years. Raymond had a special talent for embracing new hobbies, often diving into them with great excitement and meticulous research. Whether it was making cheese, photography, or flying kites, he found genuine joy in learning something new.

He was also an excellent cook, a devoted movie lover, and a true "foodie" who loved preparing and sharing meals with others. He was specifically proud of crockpot chili. Raymond had a deep affection for animals, and was a "cat grandpa" to his daughter Christine's cat, Charley, whom he adored.

Raymond is survived by his beloved daughter, Christine MacNaul, and her fiancé, Noah Friedman; his former wife, Karen Lamb MacNaul; along with many extended family members, close friends, nieces, nephews, and cousins who will miss him dearly.

A Celebration of Raymond's Life will be held on Saturday, December 6, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Higgins Home For Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, New Jersey. The family welcomes all who knew and loved Raymond to attend and honor his memory.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions may be made to the Plainfield Area Humane Society, 75 Rock Ave., Plainfield, NJ 07063.
