Obituary of Richard F. Conrad
Obituary for Richard F. Conrad
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard F. Conrad, who left us on February 7, 2026 at the age of 82. He passed away peacefully with his daughter by his side holding his hand. Richard lived a life defined by generosity, humility, and kindness and was always seen smiling and doing something to help others.
Richard was a graduate of McQuaid Jesuit High School, Class of 1961, and later attended Rochester Institute of Technology. Growing up, he loved playing baseball and later in life discovered a love of golf. He was a proud United States Air Force Veteran and also dedicated 42 years working for Wegmans Food Markets as a truck driver and was a loyal member of Teamsters Local 118. Richard was so proud to work for Wegmans and truly loved everyone there…for many years after retirement he'd tell stories of his time there and how wonderful everyone was to him. Above all else, Richard will be remembered for his unwavering kindness. He greeted everyone with warmth, would talk to everyone he crossed paths with and lived his life helping others simply because it was the right thing to do. He found greater value in thank you cards and handwritten notes than in money.
Richard leaves behind his son Kevin (Cindy) Conrad and daughter Kristy (Anthony) Nudo along with his grandchildren Cameron and Maxton Nudo, and Brendan, Ryan, Christopher and Olivia Conrad. He is also survived by his siblings, Thomas (Pat), Dan, Phil, James, Bernie (Tina), Michele (Randy) Rowley along with many nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends. He was the beloved son of Evans and Rita Conrad, who predeceased him.
The Conrad family is deeply grateful to the caring staff at The Friendly Home for their exceptional dedication and compassion. They treated him like family and provided him with loving care that meant more to us than words can express. Although our hearts are broken, we are grateful for the years that we shared with him listening to his many funny stories and watching him play Santa for all the kids at the annual Conrad Christmas Party. We know he'll be cheering on the Buffalo Bills from Heaven – Go Bills!!
In lieu of flowers or charitable donations, the family asks that you honor Richard's lifelong mission: do something special for someone else -an act of kindness to help spread more compassion in the world, just as Richard did every day. If you wish, please feel free to share your act of kindness with his family. Friends and family are welcome to gather at any of the events below to celebrate the life of this wonderful man.
