St. Martinville - A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at Pellerin Funeral Home in St. Martinville for Richard "Ma Bruda" Daigle, 58, who passed away on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at his residence.
A visitation will take place at the funeral home in St. Martinville on Friday, April 25, 2025 from 4:30 until 9:00 pm. It will continue on Saturday from 8:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am.
A Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 pm on Friday evening by the Men's Rosary Group of New Iberia.
Deacon Russell Hayes will officiate at the Funeral Service. Readers will be Amy Judice, Kirsten Mestayer and Shanae Lavergne.
Richard's life was a shining example of compassion and kindness. His heart was overflowing with love for humanity, and he had an extraordinary gift for filling rooms with laughter and joy, leaving a mark on everyone he met. He shared a special bond with people from all walks of life, inspiring countless individuals with his selfless nature and unwavering generosity. Richard never sought anything in return for his acts of kindness; rather, he embodied the true spirit of love and community.
In addition to his remarkable career in oilfield sales, Richard was also known for his love of music and his incredible DJ talents. He cherished the moments of connection music brought to life, and he loved to sing, spreading joy wherever he went.
He is survived by his fiancée, Angie "Dat Woman" Marie Bernard; son, Dustin Daigle (Rebecca); daughter, Brandi Daigle; step-father, Ulysses "Lass" Lasseigne, Sr.; step-daughters, Shanae Lavergne and Emily Marceaux; step-son, Dylan Simon (Ali); brother, Orsen Daigle, Jr. (Gina); step-brother, Joey Lasseigne, Jr. (Jenny); sister, Bonita Daigle Mestayer (Chris); step-sisters, Alyson Evans (Glenn) and Amelia Lasseigne (Andre'); grandchildren, Oliver and Baylor; and step-grandchildren, Tatum, Nixson and Blaike.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Ethel Pellerin Lasseigne; father, Orsen John Daigle, Sr. (Bobbie); paternal grandparents, Edrick and Aline Dugas Daigle; maternal grandparents, Abel and Laura Castille Pellerin; and step-sister, Alicia Lasseigne Poirier.
Pallbearers will be Orsen Daigle, Jr., Logan Daigle, Dustin Daigle, Chris Mestayer, Bobby Daigle and Joey Lasseigne.
Honorary pallbearers will be Francie "Foot" Landry, Dylan Simon and Mickey Poirier.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Our Lady of Lourdes, Dr. Moussaly, MD Anderson Cancer Center and Audubon Hospice for their exceptional care and compassion during his journey.
