Richard David "Dave" Watters entered his heavenly home on July 8, 2025 surrounded by his loving family, from an extended illness.
He was born in Lima, Ohio in 1939, but had lived in Jackson Township for 44 years. He was a credit supervisor for Ohio Power/AEP from 1967 to 2000, retiring in December of 2000. Dave graduated in 1957 from Lima Senior High School and attended Ohio Northern College in Ada, Ohio. During his school years he became an Eagle Scout. In 1957, he joined the Marine Reserves and served for 11 years.
Before his illness, he enjoyed being in the golf leagues with his retired friends. Dave also loved camping, fishing, boating, and water skiing with his family. He attended River Tree Christian Church until he was unable.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard E. Watters and Virgina C. Watters; and brothers, Thomas and Steve Watters.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years Sondra Watters; his son Richard (Kathy) Watters; daughters, Kimberly (Phil) Marcinkoski, Melanie (Chris) Nary, Angela (James) Wood, and Nicole Watters; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
The family would like to thank Nurse Cheryl, Nurse Kim, and Dawn from Traditions Hospice for their care over the past year.
Visitation will be held from 10:00am to 12:00pm on Thursday, July 17, 2025 at Paquelet Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin at 12:00pm at the funeral home, and burial will follow at Sunset Hills Burial Park.
