Richard Diacont Obituary

Published by Legacy from Jun. 2 to Jun. 6, 2025.
On June 1, 2025, Richard Diacont passed away peacefully at Viva Senior Living in Bel Air. Richard was a graduate of The Polytechnic High School and went on to be a Draftsman at Strescon Industries in Baltimore. Richard was a lover of the great outdoors! He enjoyed camping, hiking and just being in nature. Richard was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He could often be found at a sporting event or band concert cheering his family on. A true gentleman and family man is how he will be remembered.
Richard and his late wife, Marianne (Fleckenstein) lived their final years at Viva Senior Living (formerly Commonwealth) in Bel Air. Prior to her passing in October 2023, you could find Richard and Marianne holding hands and sitting on the couch together. Together for a total of 71 years, they were soulmates.
Richard is survived by his three children, Richard Diacont, Jr. of Forest Hill, Eileen Taylor of Forest Hill and Rebecca Maloy and her husband John of Bel Air. He is also survived by grandchildren Daniel Diacont, Connie Greene, Christine Wilt, Jimmy, Jeff, Rachel, and Christopher Taylor and Paige and Brenden Maloy. Richard is survived by many great-grandchildren.
Richard is loved by all whom he encounters. The family is deeply appreciative of the stellar care and compassion shown by the staff of Viva Senior Living in Bel Air. This was "home" for Richard and Marianne and served as a place of comfort during their final days. While our hearts are heavy, we rejoice in knowing that Richard is now reunited in heaven with his soulmate for all eternity.
Services will be held at the Evans Memorial Chapel in Forest Hill. Viewings will be held on Thursday, June 5 from 2-4 pm. and 6-8 pm. A memorial service will be held in the Evans Chapel on Friday, June 6 at 10 am. The internment will be held at the Highview Memorial Gardens in Fallston following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to: Viva Senior Living of Bel Air Christmas Fund, 1415 St. Francis Road, Bel Air, Maryland 21015.
