Richard Diamond, 90, of Amarillo, TX died Monday, March 10, 2025.
Memorial services will be at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, March 13, 2025, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Burial will be private. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.
Richard was born January 18, 1935, in Amarillo, TX to Sam and Mary Diamond. He attended high school at Price College in Amarillo, TX. Following graduation, Richard served in the United States Army. He married Shirley Lupton on November 27, 1964, in Edmond, OK. Richard was a member of Chaparral Hills Baptist Church and worked as the Fain Plant Superintendent at Pioneer Natural Gas for 32 years.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ray and Jim.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Diamond, of the home; a son, Philip Diamond and wife Mistie, of Amarillo, TX; daughter, Amber Chidester and husband Dru, of Amarillo, TX; sister, Bettye Spence, of Leander, TX; eight grandchildren, John, Autumn, Matt, Cory, Bryce, Cole, Raini and Haili; and nine great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the nurses at AccentCare Hospice and the aids from Hero’s Home, Jayden and Nadia for their loving care of Richard.
The family suggests memorials be made to the 100 Club of the Texas Panhandle, 7480 Golden Pond Pl., Amarillo, Texas 79121 or a charity of your choice.
