Richard “Dick” A. Acciardo, 85, of Providence, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 1, 2026, at Hope Health Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Ann (Celio) Acciardo.
Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Albert and Jennie (Argenti) Acciardo. He was the father of David S. Acciardo and his wife Sharon and the late Richard G. Acciardo and his wife Dorothy Acciardo, four grandchildren, David Acciardo, Jr. and his wife Mira, Colby Acciardo, Casey Acciardo and Nicholas Acciardo. He was the brother of the late Marie Foxx.
Richard was self-employed and the owner of Dial Battery Paint & Auto Supply for many years retiring in 2018. He was a veteran serving in the United States Air Force. He was a car enthusiast and was very proud of his 1968 convertible Mustang that he completely restored and kept for many years.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral which will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. from the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith Street, North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Augustine Church, 639 Mount Pleasant Avenue, Providence. Burial will follow at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Richard’s memory may be made to Almost Home Rescue RI in support of their work helping dogs in need.
