Richard "Dick" C. Hartig, 92, of Honeybrook, PA, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2025. Born in Yeadon, PA to the late Carl and Margaret (d'Romtra) Hartig, he enlisted in the Merchant Marines shortly after graduating from Landsdowne High School. Dick subsequently joined the Navy as an aircraft engine mechanic. Upon his honorable discharge, he worked as a splicer with the Bell Telephone Company and eventually relocated to Florida. It was during his years with the phone company that he met a young woman by the name of Elizabeth Pizuti. Three decades later they would reunite and marry. Dick inherited a ready-made family of three stepchildren, Kathy Buchovecky (Robert); Bill Romans (Laura); Paul Romans (Mary Catherine); five granddaughters, Sydney Vandenbraak, Alix Meyers, Ashley Romans, Lilly Romans, and Sophie Romans; and one great grandson, Jax Vandenbraak, and another due to arrive in November. He eventually relocated back to Pennsylvania and worked in the Chester County real estate assessment group.

He will be best remembered for his love of boating, his dogs, good seafood, and martinis with extra olives.

If you would like to honor Richard's memory, the family asks that you make a donation in his memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Schriner's Hospital for Children.
