Richard J. Dillon, passed away on March 13, 2024, at the age of 88 in Lake Worth, Florida. Born on February 20, 1936, in New Haven, Connecticut, Richard led a remarkable life filled with love, passion, and dedication. Throughout his life, Richard's family meant everything to him.
He was preceded in death by his late wife, Jean Hess Dillon, and daughter Lisa DeLeo. He is survived by his devoted loving wife Carole Dillon, children Carole (Don) Eichner, Susan (John) Flucker, Sharon (Sébastien) Chéné, Lawrence (Kathy) DeLeo,
Lynne (Deborah Allen) DeLeo and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren in Connecticut and Pennsylvania.
Richard's professional journey was equally inspiring. From the 1970s, he dedicated his career to the water and wastewater industry, starting in West Haven, Connecticut, and eventually settling in South Florida, where he continued his impactful work until the end. A dedicated teacher, Richard authored books that he used in his classes, leaving a lasting legacy in the field.
Apart from his professional accomplishments, Richard had a passion for hockey, particularly the Florida Panthers. His enthusiasm for the sport was infectious, and he could often be found cheering on his favorite team with passion.
A man of unwavering faith, Richard's life will be celebrated at a Memorial Service at Saint Matthew Catholic Church in Lake Worth, Florida, on Friday, April 19th, at 3 pm. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of all those who had the
privilege of knowing him.
Richard J. Dillon will be remembered as a loving husband, a devoted father, a respected professional, and a loyal friend. His kindness, wisdom, and joyful spirit will be dearly missed by all who knew him. May he rest in peace.

My condolences to the Dillon family. Rich touched the lives of so many while changing their career paths and lives in the process. Rich was our water and wastewater guru and will be sorely missed.
