Richard Dinallo Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Kindrich-McHugh Steinbauer Funeral Home on Jul. 2, 2025.
Richard DiNallo, a beloved son, father, grandfather, friend, and respected custom home builder, passed away on June 29th at the age of 76. Known for his unwavering dedication to his family and his craft, Rick leaves behind a legacy built not only in the homes he constructed but in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Born on July 27th, 1948, in East Cleveland, Ohio, Rick developed an early passion for craftsmanship and design. In the late 1970s, Rick, along with his partner Neil Wittrup, established Dinallo and Wittrups Homes, Inc., and built a successful career as a custom home builder creating beautiful, lasting homes that reflected the dreams of countless families. His attention to detail, integrity, and commitment to quality earned him the respect of colleagues and clients alike. Dinallo and Wittrup Homes earned countless awards and honors throughout their decades of craftsmanship.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Rick's greatest pride was his family. He was a devoted family man. As a father, he was endlessly supportive, generous, and kind-always ready with a lesson to teach, worldly wisdom, encouragement, and supportive words.
Rick found joy in the simple things: Sunday dinners with family, time spent with classic cars, remembering "the good old days", watching his grandchildren's sporting events, and sharing stories from his years in construction. He taught those around him the value of hard work, the importance of family, humbleness, and always giving your best.
He is survived by his 3 children, Michael (Beth), Heather Trainor (Scott), and Angela Magnes (Jay); his 6 grandchildren Ava, Siena, Maddy, Giada, Collin, and Nina; his former spouse Sandra; his mother Anna; his siblings Raymond (Maureen), Linda Patton (Kevin), and Debbie Belt (Jim); and 4 nieces and a nephew. He was preceded in death by his father, Peter DiNallo.
Visitation will be held at Kindrich-McHugh Steinbauer Funeral Home, 33375 Bainbridge Road, Solon, Ohio 44139 on Monday, July 7th from 9:30AM-Noon.(Please be aware of road closures due to construction..enter from Bainbridge Road, eastbound) A funeral mass will be held at St. Rita's Church, 32820 Baldwin Road, Solon, at 1:00 PM with a private burial to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to NEOPAT, Wounded Warriors or St Jude's charities in his memory.
Though his tools may be set down, the foundation he laid-in both wood and love-will stand strong for generations.

The most caring , giving and loving person I have had the privilege of knowing. His knowledge of building along with Neil was amazing. Their homes are everywhere and their owners love them. I will miss his presence in my life always. Love,Pat

Rick was a man of integrity. He was a close family friend and business partner to my grandpa. Being the oldest grandchild he saw me grow up and attended my graduation and wedding. I appreciate him showing up beyond the office and taking time to spend with our family. He was always kind and welcoming. I appreciate and honor what he and my grandfather built. Rick was the glue and his devotion to the company is commendable. Rest in eternal peace. My condolences to the family and loved ones.

profoundly saddened to learn of the passing of mr. dinallo. i met rick some 27 years ago when i started my career with the city of solon building department. i always found him to be dedicated to his craft, mindful of others and a respectful partner to city officials in his long and illustrious field of high quality home construction within the city of solon and elsewhere. my thoughts and prayers are with his family freinds and colleagues during this time. may god bless rick and his memory,
