Obituary published on Legacy.com by C. C. Van Emburgh Funeral Home - Ridgewood on Nov. 24, 2024.
Constance Dinallo of Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ and Cooperstown, NY passed away peacefully at home Sunday, November 24, 2024 at the age of 93. Mrs. Dinallo (nee Evans) was born in Middletown NY July 31,1931. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt.
Connie had a myriad of passions in her life. In her early days she was a registered nurse at Lenox Hill Hospital before marrying Eugene Dinallo and starting her family. While raising her 5 children, she earned a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences from Mercy College as well as her certificate of Appraisal of Fine Arts and Antiques. Connie's love for antiques, art and collectibles took her to all manner of places, including work at 3 of the great New York auction houses- Phillips, Christie's and Sotheby's.
Connie's interests were broad and diverse. She was a member of the choir at St. Gabriel's Roman Catholic Church, as well as a 27-year member of the Ramapo Valley chapter of The Sweet Adelines. During this time, they were thrice crowned World Champions. Connie also found time to volunteer for Contact, the Suicide Prevention Program, for over 15 years and was recognized for her work with an award for outstanding service. It should not be overlooked that Connie adopted all manner of dogs, ducks, geese and injured birds over the years. There was always a spare shoebox for all who needed help.
Connie is survived by her children Carol Hall, David Dinallo and wife Rochelle, Susan Mac Donald, John Dinallo, Lisa Baliatico and husband Brian. Connie adored her 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Gene and fiancé Ken Angelo.
Connie will be laid to rest, in a private ceremony, at Oak Hill Cemetery in Nyack NY.
