Michael Lucas

Lucas, Michael, Peter, 85, of Midland Park, NJ, entered into eternal rest on January 31st, 2026. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was a 1967 graduate of the University of the Arts in Philadelphia.

After a career in package design, Michael retired to restore and race cars and sail competitively. Michael was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 37 years, Diane Lucas, who passed in 2005. In the years that followed, Michael found love again with his partner of 20 years, Sarah Collins, who remained by his side. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Jamie Lucas, and his beloved granddaughters, Grace and Margot.

Family and friends may call on Friday, February 27th, from 5-7 PM at the C.C. Van Emburgh Funeral Home, 306 E. Ridgewood Ave. Ridgewood, NJ 07450. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, February 28th, at 9:00 AM at the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at the Valleau Cemetery in Ridgewood, with a luncheon to follow at Biagio's Ristorante at 299 Paramus Rd, Paramus, NJ 07652.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation of any size to either the cancer center that provided such great care to Michael through his battle with glioblastoma or the hospice center where he spent his final days.
