Richard Michael Dippolito, 77 passed away on Friday, June 27, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Youngstown, Ohio on May 3, 1948, to the late Pat and Angeline (Garritano) Dippolito.
Rich was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, who dedicated his life to family. He loved golfing, fishing, gardening, and his favorite hobby, model trains. He was devout Catholic, belonging to St. Louis Bertrand Church.
Richard was a Navy Veteran during the Vietnam War. He served aboard the aircraft carrier, USS American and later served on the Admirals staff with the Commander Amphibious Group Two aboard the USS Mount Whitney.
He is survived by his wife Marian; Son Michael Dippolito (Amy); daughter Michelle (Fiancé- Rob Camarota and his children Bobby, Andy, and Caleb); his grandchildren Stella Dippolito, Jansen Barker, and Kaden Barker; his brother Raymond Dippolito; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, from 3:00pm until 7:00pm at Ratterman Brothers Funeral Home, St. Matthews.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:30 am on Thursday, July 3, 2025 at St. Louis Bertrand Catholic Church, 1104 S 6th St., Louisville, KY.
A private burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Saint Louis Bertrand Church, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (Memphis, TN) Or Hosparus Health (Louisville, KY).
