Stephen null Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ratterman Brothers Funeral Home - St. Matthews on Mar. 11, 2026.
Stephen Douglas "Steve" Lynch, 57, and his best friend and canine companion "Daisy", passed away from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on Sunday, March 8, 2026.

He was born September 22, 1968, in Louisville the youngest of seven children to the late Robert Joseph Lynch and Emma Jane Billings Lynch.

Steve was a graduate of Waggener High School and worked alongside his brother Chris doing lawn and landscape. For over 30 years of working side by side, their relationship as brothers grew even stronger, developing a bond that could not be broken. Later he took on a position working for the Census Bureau in Jeffersonville, IN.

Steve took care of himself and worked out daily. He was known for his honesty and the faith that was part of his life. He never met a stranger, he loved everyone and they loved him, always greeting them with warmth and kindness. Steve's big laugh that you could hear for miles and beautiful smile were contagious, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of meeting and knowing him.

He lived life, a simple life. A free spirit with an old soul. Steve enjoyed his music, shooting pool, fishing with his brother and driving "Daisy" around so she could get her exercise. Driving a familiar route, jumping in and out of the car, and running the different football fields in St. Matthews was their routine. Daisy was his life, his baby.

Steve leaves behind his siblings, Jane Graven (Jim), Patty Vetter (Louie), Linda Jones (Bruce), Bob Lynch (Janet), Alice Kustes (Al) and Chris Lynch (Rowinna). He also leaves behind eighteen nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews.

His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 501 Cherrywood Road with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-7 pm on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at Ratterman Funeral Home, 3711 Lexington Road, St. Matthews.
