Richard Duffee Obituary
December 6, 1992 - July 5, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the tragic passing of Richard "Ricky" Duffee, age 32, who was killed in a car accident on Saturday night, July 5, 2025. Born December 6, 1992, Ricky lived a life full of energy, humor, and deep love for those closest to him.
Ricky really was the kind of person who lit up every room he walked into. A natural class clown with a mischievous grin and a contagious laugh, he had a way of turning even the dullest moment into an adventure. If there was fun to be had, Ricky would find it, and if he couldn't find it, he'd create it. He had a passion for anything with a motor, especially four-wheelers, and lived to go mudding. He loved to hunt and ice fish and never turned down the chance to get outside and feel alive.
Above all, Ricky loved people. He was the kind of man who never gave up on anyone. Everyone mattered to him. Whether he was dancing badly just to make you laugh or singing off-key to cheer you up, Ricky knew that happiness came from connection, and he made it his mission to spread joy. For Ricky, life wasn't about rules or material things; it was about building relationships, having fun, and being there for the people he loved.
He lived courageously, unapologetically, and on his own terms. Yet, he was grounded by one of life's greatest treasures: his daughter, Kimmy, who was his whole world. Ricky worked hard to create a life he could be proud of, not just for himself but for her as well. Their daily conversations were the highlight of his day and provided him with purpose and strength. His legacy lives on through Kimmy, who shares his same light, spark, and unstoppable spirit.
Ricky is survived by his only child, Kimmy; his parents; his many siblings; nieces; nephews; cousins; and countless friends who loved him like family. His absence will be felt most profoundly by his Aunt Linda, Uncle Ron, Josie, and Braden, who held a special place in his heart. The world is a little darker without Ricky in it. However, we carry his memory forward with each smile, each story, and each moment we find joy in the simple things, just as he would have wanted. Ricky reminded us that life is short, laughter is sacred, and love is everything.
A memorial service will be held at Isle High School on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., with lunch to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a fund for his daughter Kimmy. Please send donations directly to Josie Hippie, trustee for Ricky's affairs, via Venmo (@josiehippie).
