With heavy hearts, we share the passing of our dear brother and friend, Richard Allen Dunford, Jr., of Medford, MN, who passed away on October 9, 2025, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital after a short illness. He was 65 years old.

Born to Richard (Dick) Dunford, Sr. and Magdalena (Noordhoek) Kochis, Richard was known for his hard work, kindness, and love of the outdoors.

He drove truck for many years before retiring in 2022. Richard enjoyed grilling with friends, fishing, and staying connected with family-especially his daily calls with his sister and brother. In his younger years, he loved riding his motorcycle and was always ready to lend a helping hand. Richard was the kind of person who would do anything for others, and he did so with a generous heart.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Magdalena; his stepfather, Tony Kochis; his brother, Ron Dunford; and his sister, Laura Knudsen. He is lovingly remembered by his sister, Lynn (Tom) Mansager; his brother, Randy (Brenda) Dunford; and many nieces and nephews who will miss him deeply.

Richard will be dearly missed, and we will forever cherish his memory in our hearts. We take comfort in knowing he is now at peace with our Lord. A private family service will be held at Bonnerup Funeral Home in Albert Lea, MN, with interment at Hillcrest Cemetery in Albert Lea.

To honor his memory, we invite you to enjoy one of his favorite treats-a bowl of chocolate ice cream.
