Barney Dunford Jr. Obituary
Barney Dunford Jr., 97 of Bucyrus passed away on Friday August 23, 2024 at home surrounded by his family. Barney was born February 23, 1927 in Beech Fork, W. Virginia to the late Barney and Annie (Fitzpatrick) Dunford. He was married August 19, 1954 to Helen N. (Poe) Dunford who preceded him in death on July 15, 2014. He was also preceded in death by son in law Gary Spence and 11 siblings he loved so much.
Barney is survived by children Scott (Rhonda) Dunford, Karen Spence, Danny (Gigi) Dunford, Barney “BJ” Dunford, and Cheryl Dunford; Grandchildren Brent, Michael, Delanea, Danny Jr, Lindsay, Brandon, Zachary, Kaleb, Lynnzie, Kyle, Kaden & Cheyenne. Great grandchildren Henry, Rowan, Lilie, Nicolas, Carter, Teddy, Asher, Adalee, Dawson, Gracie & Gavin as well as many nieces and nephews.
Barney lived most of his life in Bucyrus and retired from Swan Rubber in 1993 after 33 years. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. Barney enjoyed playing the guitar, gardening & spending time with his family at the dinner table.
A Graveside Service will be held on Monday August 26, 2024 at 3:00 pm in the Iberia Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy can be left at www.munzpirnstill.com
