Richard Eanes Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by McCoy Funeral Home - Blacksburg on Dec. 16, 2024.
Richard Lee Eanes, 72, of Christiansburg, VA, went home to be with his Lord and family on December 14th, 2024. He was born in Christiansburg, VA on April 19th 1952. He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Eanes, mother, Helen Burton, brother, Darrel Eanes, and sister, Linda Eanes.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, his soulmate, Sue Eanes; daughter, Natasha Neel and husband, Andy; son, Ricky Blevins; stepsons, Gary Stover and wife, Holly, Leo Stover and wife, Teresa; brother, Scott Eanes; uncle and aunt, Bill and Mary Burton; grandchildren, Dusty Stover and wife, Katelyn, Monica Craft and husband, Justin, Cory Stover and his fiancé, Kaeley, Randy Stover, Hunter Stover, Coby Stover, and Dakota Stover; great grandson, Axel Stover; many nieces and nephews.
Richard was a man of unwavering faith, a skilled mechanic, an avid pool player; and a motorcycle enthusiast. But more than his love for playing pool or riding motorcycles, Richard was defined by his dedication to helping others. He found joy in helping his kids and grandkids fix their cars. He had a heart as big as the sky he rode under, always ready to lend a helping hand, offer advice, or just simply listen.
Family was the core of Richard's life, always leading with compassion, wisdom, and a quiet strength. As a loving husband to his wife Sue, their 28 years of marriage were a testament to true partnership and enduring love. Together, they built a home filled with love, laughter, warmth, and cherished memories such him filling the house with the sounds of delightful gospel music with his guitar.
Richard had a deep and abiding live for his faith, which he expressed through his devotion to his church community at Childress Church of God in Riner, VA. Attending services was one of his greatest joys, as he found comfort, strength, and purpose in worship and fellowship. Whether singing hymns or sitting in quiet prayer, his faith was the foundation of his life.
To honor Richard's memory, the family invites loved ones to a Celebration of Life on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at 1:00 pm in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ronald Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg.
Though he is no longer with us, his legacy of love, humor, family, and kindness will live in our hearts forever. He has been an immense inspiration to us all. We take comfort in knowing that Richard is at peace in the presence of the Lord. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
