Richard "Dick" Ebert, 74, passed away at his home in Rushford, MN on Saturday August 10, 2024.
Services will be hosted by Bonnerup Funeral and Cremation in Albert Lea on Friday August 16, 2024, at 2:00 PM; visitation will begin one hour prior. Dick will be interred at Hillcrest Cemetery following the service.
Dick was born in a car on the way to the hospital in 1950, the son of Lloyd and Mavis Ebert. That was just the beginning of his adventures. He grew up on a farm outside of Blooming Prairie, MN. Dick was drafted and served in Vietnam. When he returned, he attended tech school and spent many years working at EF Johnson in Waseca, MN before moving to what was then Midwest Wireless, now Verizon. He retired in 2015.
Along the way, he visited 49 states and even more countries. All that traveling could be a bit much, but he enjoyed sharing his experiences with friends and family. His favorite travel was "up nort'" where he could often be found fishing, camping, canoeing, and sharing food and drinks with anyone and everyone.
Dick is survived by his daughter, Lisa, his brother, Larry, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by both parents, as well as his two sisters, Linda and Sandra.
Memorial donations may be made in Dick's name to the Fisher House Foundation, Inc., 12300 Twinbrook Pkwy Suite 410, Rockville, MD 20852.
