Richard Louis Elstad

Richard "Dick" Louis Elstad, 84, of Hermantown, MN, passed away on August 31, 2024 at BeeHive Homes.
Richard was born in Duluth to Raymond and Myrtle Elstad on October 8, 1939. He graduated from Hermantown High School in 1957 and worked for Wherley Moving and Storage and retired from Diamond Drilling after 40 years. Dick enjoyed helping friends and family with projects and working on automobiles. He enjoyed his tractors, motorcycles, camping and fishing and time with his family. Dick was a former member of the 148th Air National Guard, a Master Mason of the Trinity Lodge 282, and a member of Salem Lutheran Church.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Myrtle; brothers, Robert and Dale; and grandson, Bryan Crawford.
Richard is survived by his wife of 66 years, Beverly (Engquist); children, Cindy (Bob Kachelmyer), Rick (Beth), and Tom (Angie); grandchildren, Rick (Kristi), Sara, Darrin, Benjamin, Joe, Josh, Jordan, and Jarret; great-grandchildren, Ryan, Ezra, Annorah, Xander, and Karson; sisters, Marilyn, Janice and Judy; and many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to BeeHive Homes and Gentiva Hospice for their care.
Visitation to be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 14th at Sunrise Funeral Home, 4798 Miller Trunk Hwy, with Memorial Service at 3:00 PM and reception to follow.
