Katheryn Cartwright Obituary
Katheryn Louise Cartwright, 79, of Duluth, MN passed away February 15, 2026 at Essentia Health St Mary’s Medical Center after a strong battle against cancer.
Kathy was born in Duluth to Irwin & Irene Stebner on June 10, 1946. She graduated from Hermantown and then earned her nursing degree from WITC. Most of her career was at Nopeming Nursing Home until they closed. She retired in 2009 from Viewcrest.
She lived out her life by taking care of others. She was a dedicated and reliable employee with a heart of gold. Foremost, she was the best mother to her 3 children.
Kathy was very passionate about all animals. Her pets were loved hard and extremely spoiled.
Kathy was preceded in death by her significant other, Bruce Nelson; parents, Irwin & Irene Stebner; siblings, Gloria Pearson, Nancy Campbell, William Stebner, Jane Nelson, and Darlene Andrews.
Kathy is survived by her children, Roger (Tammy) Stoneman, Theresa Stoneman, and Marla (Cory) Peterson; grandchildren, Brandon VanDell, Arianna Griak (Dan), Milan Griak, Easton Peterson, and Wyatt Peterson; sister, Marie Schilling; brother-in-law, Keith Pearson; auntie, Kathy Seguin; uncle, Jim & Lois Seguin; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Per Kathy's wishes, there will be a private service.
