I didn´t know he had passed. So sorry. We were childhood friends. We lived in a very small neighborhood on a dead end street where pretty much everyone knew everyone. I can remember riding bikes with Richard and other kids on our street, playing basketball, building igloos, snowball fights and sleigh riding in winter. Halloween was always fun around home. Richard was easy goin and pretty soft spoken most of the time as I recall. I don´t remember ever seeing him mad at anyone. It´s surreal when I learn of the passing of a childhood friend that I knew from a very young age and saw very regularly. There were more than a couple of guys close to our age and we all new each other and pretty much stayed in our little neighborhood and had plenty to do without getting bored. He had tried to contact me through a high school social media platform not long ago but left no way to get back in touch so I couldn´t pursue any further contact. Of course I´m sorry we weren´t able to connect and touch base and catch up or reminisce a little. Yesterday was simpler and not so rushed and busy with things like we see today. Nothing like Covid was even a thought or concern. I remember being content with life back then and grateful for what I had including friends like Richard. Our generation is thinning out now so I guess we are becoming more aware of our mortality and how short this life really IS. Sure makes ME think more about it.

So sorry to hear of Richard's passing. I knew Richard through work and mostly talked with him when I needed his help checking on some piece of computer hardware at work. Richard would always find time to help and be glad to do so -- he was a fantastic guy that left this life far too soon! I will miss him and his text messages around the Holidays.
