Richard Gene Faniel Sr. 66, of Baytown, TX; passed Mar. 30, 2025.
Services are Sunday, Apr. 06, 2025, at Proctor's Mortuary 518 Miller St. Anahuac, TX. Visitation will begin at 1PM until Funeral at 2PM. Interment will be in Whittington Cemetery Hankamer, TX.
Richard Gene Faniel, Sr. born on December 1, 1958, in Houston, Texas. He was the son of the late Lawerence Faniel of Richmond, Texas and Velma Ruth Warfield of Crockett, Texas. He gained his wings on March 30, 2025.
Richard, a hardworking and devoted man, passed away, leaving behind a legacy of dedication to his family. He built a career in the mobile home industry, ensuring his loved ones and extended family were always provided for. Richard was a passionate sports enthusiast who enjoyed nothing more than watching his teams play, even if it meant good-naturedly "talking trash" when they underperformed. Alongside his wife, he lovingly cared for his great nephews Royton Williams and Jayden Broussard, and great niece Serenity Broussard. He will be deeply missed by his loving nephew, Desmond Broussard, and all who knew him.
Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Cheryl Faniel; his father, Lawerence Faniel; paternal grandmother, Lola B. Daniels; paternal grandfather, Eugene Faniel; maternal grandmother, Ruthanna Warfield; maternal grandfather, Roosevelt Warfield; and mother-in law, Bessie Broussard.
He leaves to cherish in his memory: his mother, Velma Ruth Robinson; daughter, Kenisha Broussard Simpson (Brandon Simpson); Sons, Damon Broussard; and Richard Faniel, Jr. Granddaughters', Nahla Simpson; and Naaja Simpson. His siblings, Van Faniel; Lawerence Faniel (Abigail Faniel); Jeffery Faniel; and Tonja Brantley. Brother-in-laws, James C. Broussard; Brian K. Broussard; and sister-in-law, Katrinea D. Broussard; and a host of nieces and nephews.
