I've never met a finer man. He worked hard, always had a smile and was thoughtful and positive. I loved to greet him. He always acted like he was so excited to see you. He would often remind me of the wood shop class my father (Claude Cassady) gave as an adult education class years ago in Fort Jones, CA. He had a lot of respect for my father.
One year my father wrote a poem for Richard. He was delighted, so delighted that he framed it and had it up at his son's service center.
This was a man who loved his family. Always supportive and pleased at their accomplishments.
We will miss his happy smile and all that he represented from that era of great men.
