Obituary of Richard G. Fletcher, Jr.
It is with great sadness to announce the death of Richard G. Fletcher of Kinnelon, New Jersey
who entered into eternal life with the Lord on March 20, 2025.
Richard was born June 19, 1949 in Orange New Jersey. He was raised in Montclair, NJ. He is
predeceased by his parents Richard G. Fletcher Sr. and Barbara (nee McManus). He is survived
by his wife Allyson, sisters and brothers Robert, Doug, Carol and Donna, his sister-in-law
Valerie Ratner, brother-in-law Rick Lohn and his wife Anne Marie. He also leaves behind many
nieces and nephews, and his great long-time friends Jack and Susie Carbone, and Tim McSwain.
Dick was a deeply devoted husband to his loving wife Allyson and cared well for his brothers,
sisters, and friends. Dick with an engaging smile and great sense of humor, was a friend to many
and admired and respected by everyone he met. One of his prominent personal characteristics
was his spirit of generosity. A truly a big-hearted person, those who knew him could count on
him in a time of need. He was always there for friend or family to provide the guidance or
assistance they needed without question. His presence in other's lives provided years of
comfort. A more loyal and better friend few could find. He also loved the company of his dogs
Oscar, Bailey and Guy, providing them all the creature comforts possible.
Richard's other great enjoyment were the Christmas holidays. Whether he was dressed as Santa
or just as himself, he truly loved to give more than receive. Hess trucks to his nephews, plentiful
gourmet food baskets to his friends, toys to the church, and special items to his wife, were just a
few examples of his spirit.
A true patriot, Dick was also about service to others. He served as a Sergeant in the New Jersey
National Guard, and an auxiliary police officer in Montclair, New Jersey.
Always an entrepreneur, and at the inception of information technology in the 1980's, Dick and
Allyson founded Atlantic Logic, Inc. This venture sold and maintained computer equipment and
systems nationwide. The company eventually expanded into data analysis for political
organizations and campaigns. Richard managed the data collection and analysis for the
campaigns of Governor Thomas Kean, the subsequent Kean-Florio Recount, and the New Jersey
Republican State Committee. Richard also simultaneously founded and published a successful
business magazine, Executive Business. The magazine provided valuable and sought after
content. These were just a few of his ventures. Richard met every business challenge with zeal
and success, caring well for his employees, and always doing the right thing.
