Richard Raymond Foley, age 77, of Cumming, GA, passed away on September 20, 2022. He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Ann Foley; sister, Lucille Williams; his best friend, Al Leight.
Surviving is His wife Annet Foley; children, Theresa Tucker and RJ Foley; grandchildren, Jason Compton (Brandy Compton) and Brooke McDonald; two great grandchildren, Addisyn Compton and Connor Compton. His brother Jim Foley and family. His nephew John Dean Williams and family.)
Richard was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. His wife was his best friend and they created and enjoyed a lifetime of memories. They supported their church (Holy Trinity) by volunteering, lecturing, gardening, and many other activities. Dad loved fishing and boating locally and also in Arkansas with family and friends. He left us with so many cherished memories. He also made fishing poles by hand which many family members and friends have to enjoy for years to come. Hunting with his hunting dogs and friends was something he enjoyed every year in the Fall. Richard was an outdoors, hands on man. He was hardworking, dedicated, loving, and loyal. If he could help someone, he had no hesitation to help. His sense of humor, kindness, and loving nature was known by all; he didn’t know a stranger. And, last but first, his love for his wife was unwavering and he ensured she was always cared for. As Richard stated “My Wife Comes First Always”. Although he is no longer on this earth with us, he lives within all of us. He was an Angel on earth and he is now an Angel watching over all of us.
Due to his wife’s current health challenges with Lewy-Body Dementia, the family has opted to keep Richard’s cremated remains here close to mom since she cannot travel long distance due to her disease. When God calls Annet home, the family will provide a celebration of their lives together in Illinois and a private family burial will lay them to rest together which is how they lived their life.
Cards, flowers, etc., may be sent to Theresa Tucker, 2850 Pilgrim Mill Rd, Cumming, GA, 30041. Monetary blessings will be used for Annet’s health/memory care needs.
