Richard "Rick" M. Frederick, 70, of Fort Atkinson passed away on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at his home.

Rick was born on August 28, 1955, in Madison, son of the late Richard M. and Bernice J. (Weger) Frederick and was a 1973 graduate of Madison East High School.

Rick met his wife, Deborah Anderson at River Bend (Rubidell) in 1972 and were married on March 23, 1974. He joined the Marine Corp. in September 1973 and served as a presidential guard for 2 ½ years and was honorably discharged in 1977.

He worked at Schweiger Industries for one year until he was hired with USPS in Jefferson. Rick went on military leave from USPS and joined the National Guard full time from June 1982 to April 1998. During this time, he was also involved with the JC's and the Blackhawk Auto Club, he also enjoyed bowling in league play and camping at River Bend. He retired from the military and returned to the USPS in Fort Atkinson until his retirement in 2018.

Rick and his wife, Deb, enjoyed traveling to Texas, Florida, Hawaii and Arizona along with taking many cruises.

Rick leaves behind his wife of 51 years, Deborah (Anderson) Frederick; three sons, Brian (Erin) Frederick of Plano, TX, Kevin Frederick and Keith Frederick both of Fort Atkinson; two grandsons, who were the joy of his life, Jerald and Gregory Frederick of Plano, TX; three brothers, Eugene (Liz), Dean (Cindy) and William (Pam); two sisters, Victoria (Steve) Lawler and Susan Frederick (Ken Crisp) and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

A Memorial service with Military Honors will take place at 12 noon on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at American Legion Dugout in Fort Atkinson. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. at the legion until the time of service. A celebration of life and luncheon will follow.

Dunlap Memorial Home in Fort Atkinson is assisting the family.
