Richard Fudala Obituary

Richard P. Fudala, 80, of Manchester, died February 10, 2025 at Catholic Medical Center after a long period of declining health.

He was born in Manchester on August 11, 1944 to Chester and Pauline (Schmalfuss) Fudala. He graduated from Memorial High School in 1963 then served in the U.S. Army until 1966. He lived in Londonderry for a short time and in Manchester for most of his life. When his children were younger, he coached their soccer and baseball teams.

Richard briefly worked at Hermsdorf Manufacturing then for many years as an iron worker with the Iron Workers Union Local 474 and Local 7 in Boston. He was a member of the Catholic War Veterans and a 4th degree Member of the Knights of Columbus Council 5260.

He enjoyed traveling with his wife and spending winters in Florida and summers on Lake Winnipesaukee.

He was predeceased by his parents.

Richard is survived by his wife of 57 years, Linda A. (Bischoff) Fudala of Manchester; two sons, Kenneth R. Fudala and his wife, Katherine, of South Carolina and Todd M. Fudala of Manchester; three grandchildren, Joshua Fudala of Utah and Thomas Fudala and Emma Fudala both of North Carolina; two siblings, Carol Trembly and her husband, Norman, and James Fudala and his wife, Patricia; in-laws, Sid and Sandra Baines of Hooksett and Bob and Joyce Francis of Bedford; and many nieces and nephews.

SERVICES: Calling hours are on Tuesday (2/18) from 4 to 6 p.m. at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., Manchester. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday (2/19) at 10:30 a.m. at St. Raphael Church, 103 Walker St., Manchester. Committal prayers will follow at St. Hedwig Cemetery, Donald Street in Bedford.

So sorry to hear about Dick passing. He was one of the nicest person I ever met. We worked together as Ironworkers, & he was well respected as a hard worker, conscientious, & talented tradesman. Always had a good word to say, had a dry sense of humor & a proud father & family man. RIP DICKIE
