Richard A. Gable

Richard Gable, 75, of Auburn, passed away peacefully, on February 3, 2024, after a brief illness from Alzheimer’s disease, with his loving family by his side.  Born in Manchester, NH on August 8, 1948, he was the son of the late Emil and Rita (Marchand) Gable.  He resided in Manchester for many years and attended Memorial High School.  

He was a successful entrepreneur owning several businesses during his life.   Second Street Auto Sales, Gable Painting and Dicks Stove and Pellet Supply.  A hardworking and well-liked man; Richard had many friends and loyal customers.

Richard loved his children and grandchildren dearly and enjoyed spending time with them, taking bike rides, going for long walks, and attending family get togethers.

He loved fishing, camping, listening to music, weekend drives up north and especially eating at the Galley Hatch, his favorite restaurant at the beach, Lastly, Richard loved his devoted wife, Brenda, her family and their two dogs Bella and Wiggles.

Richard was predeceased by his son, Ronald E. Gable and survived by his wife, Brenda Soares Gable, his two daughters’, Jane Gable of Manchester, NH; Renee and her husband, Frank Cookinham of Gilmanton, NH; his grandchildren, Jillian and Geena Cookinham, Steven Pepin of Manchester, NH; Jason Bohan of Manchester, NH; Brenda’s daughter, Adrienne Soares of Auburn, NH; his sister, Bertha Bennett of Fort Myers, FL; and his nephew, Russell Bennett.

We will miss him dearly and forever cherish our memories.
