Richard Edgar Gagnon, age 72, of Montezuma, Georgia passed away on November 8,2025 after a brief illness.
Richard was born on July 17,1953 in Worcester, MA to Rene R. Gagnon and Therese (Rocheford) Gagnon. He was raised in Oxford, MA along with his eleven siblings: Rene R. Gagnon Jr (deceased), Joan Lewis (deceased), Ronald Gagnon, Joyce Gagnon, Julia Deloye, Russell Gagnon, Jacqueline Fontenot, Randall Gagnon, Janine Bratton, Jacinta Cobb.
Richard is survived by his three children, Lisa Reno, Rachel Renaud, and Richard E. Gagnon Jr. He is also survived by two grandsons.
Richard was employed by Intel for over 20 years as a maintenance technician. He also held various other jobs as a carpenter and truck driver. He was a member of Montezuma Methodist Church in Georgia and New Life Assembly in Rhode Island.
For many years Richard spent his summers in Narragansett, RI where he loved to walk or ride his bike along the shoreline, take the ferry to Block Island and just enjoy being by the ocean. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle, alone or with friends. Richard could always be counted on to bring smiles to people’s faces with his ever-present sense of humor.
As a devoted believer in Jesus Christ, Richard had a fervent desire to serve others with the gifts he believed God had given him. He was a skilled carpenter, electrician, and plumber who loved to use his gifts to help others with home improvement and home maintenance. He was also a skilled auto mechanic and enjoyed doing repairs and making improvements to his own vehicles and those of others.
A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held at Montezuma Methodist Church, 201 North Dooly Street, Montezuma, Georgia at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 14, 2025. Visitation with the family will be held before the service at 10:30AM in the church sanctuary.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to Gentiva Hospice Center,for those who wish.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma, Georgia.
