Richie loved going to the beach. He enjoyed listening to music and having bonfires. Richie was a big outdoors person and would do yardwork and woodworking. He loved cheering on his Georgia Bulldogs. Go Dawgs!
Along with his parents, survivors include his son, Caden Gayton; brother, Ryan Gayton (Kirstie); brother, Marc Gayton; nephew, Taylor Gayton; and nephew, Nolan Gayton.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 19, 2025, in the Parnick Jennings Funeral Home chapel with ministers Corey Barnette and Bobby Gayton officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 18, 2025, at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home.
Parnick Jennings Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Richard "Richie" Eugene Gayton.

It breaks my heart to hear that my friend Richie has passed away at the young age of 48.
We grew up in church together - from children into our teenage years, we shared laughs, music, and memories that still make me smile. We´d hang out, sing along to our favorite songs, and just enjoy life the way only kids can.
Richie had his struggles, like so many of us do, but I pray he has found peace now. Gone too soon.
He leaves behind so many who will miss him deeply. My heart is heavy for his family and all who loved him.
Rest easy, Richie. You will be remembered.
