Richard Lee Gilliam, Jr. passed away late Sunday, June 12, 2022, after a trying battle against a plethora of health complications. He was born to Richard and Patricia (Ward) Gilliam in Chicago, IL March 13, 1960. He enjoyed spending time with his late mother's dog Baxter, playing PlayStation, yelling at the TV while watching his favorite sports, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Richard excelled in his construction abilities early in his adult life and later as a beloved Grandfather. He loved to give nicknames and be playful with family members. He also was known as "Uncle Two Dollars" by his beloved great nieces. Richard took pride in knowing he helped shape two successful daughters, his niece, and nephew. The light he carried with him when he smiled will forever be missed.
He is survived by his sisters Donna Morrison (Charles Hinds) and Robin Erwin (Dave Erwin), brother-in-law Tom Hinton, his daughters Jessica Nemeth (Alex Nemeth) and Abby Hoxworth (Stephen Hoxworth), nephew Shawn Moberley, niece Ashley Zilch (Bradford Zilch), his two grandchildren Owen Nemeth and Lucas Hoxworth, and his great nieces Millie and Ava, and great nephews, Sterling and Maverick. As Richard gained his angel wings, he joins his parents Patricia and Richard Gilliam, brother, Robert Gilliam, Sisters, Dawn Hinton, and Rhonda Lynn Gilliam.
A memorial will be held Thursday, June 16, 2022, at The Zilch Residence, 18913 Raven Hills Dr. Marengo, IL, 60152 from 4:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M.
