Richard Lawrence Grinnell, age 75, of Lancaster, Texas, passed away on November 24, 2025. Born on August 17, 1950, in Tucson, Arizona, to Allan and Roxie Grinnell, Richard was a man who lived his life with deep love, faith, and creativity.
He worked for ADT Alarms for most of his life, dedicating himself to his work and those around him. Beyond his career, Richard’s true passions were music and art—he found beauty and meaning in the creative things of life. He adored his dogs, who were truly his faithful companions. Above all else, he loved the Lord, his family, his friends, and all of his church family.
Richard was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He is survived by his best friend and the love of his life, his wife, Mendy Grinnell; his father, Allan Grinnell; his daughter and daughter-in-law, Shelby and Taylor White; his four sons and daughter-in-law, Jonathan and Chrissy, James, Joseph, and Aaron Grinnell; and his sister-in-law, Sharon Goyco, and her husband. He is also survived by his five brothers and their spouses—Michael, Chris, Brian, Steve, and John David Grinnell—his sister, Jeanette Atkinson, and her spouse; and his four beloved grandchildren: Harley, Ariel, Vega, and Michael Grinnell. He leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family who adored him. The family would also like to give a special thanks to Tina Williams for being his caretaker and friend.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Roxie Grinnell, and his two brothers, Bobby and Jay Grinnell.
Richard was a light in this world that nobody could dim. His gentle spirit, kindness, and faith touched everyone he met. Truly, the angels know what a treasure they now have.
