Every time I interacted with Richard he had on his happy, welcoming smile. I got to know him well at the Tuesday morning Men´s Bible Study at the Vanderbilt Church. He never wanted or needed help with his wheelchair which he loaded and unloaded into his vehicle; he didn´t complain about his disability. He had a deep, uplifting faith which he shared freely. In addition to his passion and work with the Salvation Army, Richard was a significant contributor to Habitat for Humanity of Collier County and had attended our annual Pacesetter Dinner for major contributors in past years. Richard had a passion for life that I will never forget.

So sorry to miss the service for Richard due to my being in Atlanta Ga for the National Championship game this weekend. Richard was a friend to many including me and my deceased wife Marlene. We enjoyed being together every Friday morning at the shrinking Bob Evans Breakfast mens group from Vanderbilt Presbyterian Church. My sympathy to his daughter who on occasion visited with our group. Richard touched many lives in his personal weekly ministry to many at NCH plus many within the Salvation Army. Together with his Marlene and my Marlene, we enjoyed many board games. Rest in Peace Richard, thy Good and Faithful Servant.

I was so saddened to hear of Richard's passing. He
was truly one of the best and bravest men I have
ever known. May rest in the peace he so deserves.
