Dear Mrs. Guillemette Family,
Mr. Guillemette was my computer programming professor at New Hampshire College in the 1980's, for 4 different courses. He was very good with programming and I enjoyed his courses.
I still recall his smile while he stated during each course, 'You don't want to join the submarine corps, below C level.' and 'Keep trying because where there's a will, there's an heir.'
He was a good, fair and likable man.
With fond memories and sympathy,
Hugh Mallett

I got to know Mr. Guillemette in a couple different ways in life. First I came to know him as the dad of my friends and fellow Scouts Marc and Robbie. While for most of my time as a youth in Scouting I was a member of a nearby troop, I got to know him over that time as a great supporter of his three Eagle Scout sons. In the time I knew him in this capacity, I remember his as a patient and kind man who always had something encouraging to say, and I always looked forward to those times when we got to meet.

The second side of Mr. Guillemette was when I became old enough to become a camp staffer at Camp Carpenter where I worked very closely with his son Marc. Here I saw Mr. Guillemette in a very different light, but one that really solidified my belief in his kindness and patience. In this light I saw him as a leader with Troop 399 which was chartered to the Moore Center. The Scouts in Troop 399 all had physical or developmental “challenges.” I put that word in quotations because there really wasn't anything at Camp Carpenter that one of those boys couldn't do. Mr. Guillemette made sure of it. He was a compassionate leader, a staunch advocate, and the epitome of the Scout Law. Having had 35 years in Scouting now, I've seen a lot of leaders, and Mr. Guillemette's example is still one I talk about to this day. )

The last side I got to know was Professor Guillemette. I was a student at New Hampshire College, while I was not one of his students, I would see him often. I was also very involved with the Exploring Program at New Hampshire Insurance so Professor Guillemette knew all of my leaders as he also worked there during the day. This side of him was quite different because now he saw me as an adult. While our conversations were different, he always had a kind word. So many times his kind words lifted me up without his even realizing I was down. But that's what made him such a special person, and one who I'm proud to have known.

Truly a kind man, a great role model, a fine Scouter, and most importantly a great friend to all who knew him. He will be sadly missed. Please accept my heartfelt condolences and know my thoughts and prayers are with you all.
